Gymnastics Adventures
Our kindergarten students had a wonderful time exploring movement through gymnastics this week! Through a variety of age-appropriate activities, students practiced balancing, rolling, jumping, climbing, stretching, and moving safely. Gymnastics provides an engaging way for students to develop physical literacy while building confidence, coordination, and body awareness. Students demonstrated perseverance as they tried new skills, challenged themselves, and celebrated their successes. They also practiced important social skills by taking turns, encouraging peers, following safety expectations, and working cooperatively. It was wonderful to see so many smiles, determined faces, and proud moments as students challenged themselves and discovered new ways their bodies can move. I am so proud of their effort, courage, and positive attitudes throughout our gymnastics activities. Ask your child about their favourite gymnastics station and what new movement skill they enjoyed learning! Thank you to Mr. B for organizing this for Andrew Sibbald School.

Exploring Science Through Coding & Creativity
Over the past two weeks, our kindergarten students have become scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers as they explored "TaleBots!" Through play, collaboration, and inquiry, students used coding robots to investigate how technology can solve problems and help us learn about the world around us. Students experimented with giving simple commands, predicting what might happen, testing their ideas, and making adjustments when needed. As they worked together, they practiced asking questions, sharing observations, and learning from both successes and mistakes.
  • I can ask questions and explore how things work.
  • I can make predictions and test my ideas.
  • I can observe what happens and talk about what I notice.
  • I can solve problems by trying different solutions.
  • I can use technology safely and responsibly.
  • I can work with others to share ideas and learn together.
  • I can use simple coding commands to make a robot move.

Watching students engage with the Tales Bots was a wonderful reminder that learning happens best when students are curious, creative, and actively involved in the process. We are proud of the perseverance, teamwork, and problem-solving skills they demonstrated throughout this exciting learning experience!

Have a wonderful weekend.
