Dear Families,

As we come to the end of our kindergarten journey together, I would like to take a moment to celebrate all the growth, laughter, and learning that have filled our classroom this year. It has been an incredible adventure watching your children flourish through play, inquiry, creativity, and connection.

Over the past months, your children have been deeply engaged in learning experiences that emphasize well-being, expression, diversity, and belonging. Through rich, hands-on tasks, they explored their world in meaningful ways:

Well-being: We focused on helping students establish routines, manage big emotions, and foster friendships. Whether it was sharing a story, practicing mindfulness, or resolving conflicts with care, your child showed tremendous growth in their understanding of themselves and others.

Communication & Literacies: From morning routines and storytime discussions to drawing and early writing, your children strengthened their ability to share ideas and make meaning in many ways. They expressed themselves through storytelling, songs, art, and emergent writing, building the foundation for lifelong literacy.

Exploration & Thinking: Through sorting natural objects, building with blocks, and solving real-world problems in play, your children developed early numeracy and science skills. They asked thoughtful questions, made predictions, and learned how to explain their thinking.

Creative Expression: Whether dancing, painting, building, or dramatizing a story, students shared their unique voices. These moments of joy and creativity helped them develop confidence and a sense of identity.

Citizenship & Belonging: We celebrated who we are and where we come from. Through stories, traditions, and classroom discussions, your children learned about community, kindness, and the importance of including others.

This year, we have also nurtured a classroom community built on respect, curiosity, and wonder. Thank you for your partnership in supporting your child’s learning journey. Your involvement, whether through home conversations, shared projects, or encouraging words, has made a lasting impact.

As your child prepares to step into Grade One, they carry with them not only new skills but also a growing sense of confidence and a love for learning. I am so proud of everything they’ve accomplished.

Wishing you all a safe, restful, and joyful summer break!

With heartfelt gratitude,

Janessa
