Hello Families,
We have had another fantastic week in kindergarten.

Literacy: Kindergarten Memory Reflection

As we near the end of our kindergarten year, students used their visual journals to reflect on some of their favourite memories and experiences. Through drawing, writing, and conversation, students shared special moments that made kindergarten meaningful to them. This learning task supported students in expressing ideas, communicating their thinking, and reflecting on their growth as learners. From field trips and classroom celebrations to friendships and new discoveries, students thoughtfully captured the moments they will remember most. Please ask your child about their visual journal entry and the story behind their favourite kindergarten memory. Their reflections provide a wonderful glimpse into their learning journey and all they have accomplished this year.

Wellness: Outside Adventures

This week, students spent time exploring the outdoors. While it may look like "just play," outdoor learning provides meaningful opportunities for students to develop important skills across all areas. Through outdoor play, students practiced communication and collaboration as they worked together to build, create, negotiate, and solve problems. Students used oral language to share ideas, ask questions, and explain their thinking while engaging with peers. Our outdoor environment also supported creative thinking and imagination. Outdoor play encourages physical development as students climb, balance, run, dig, carry, and manipulate materials. These experiences strengthen both gross motor and fine motor skills while building confidence and resilience. Students also demonstrated important personal and social skills.  Most importantly, outdoor learning nurtures a sense of wonder.

Have a wonderful weekend!
