Students practiced oral language skills by asking the firefighters questions, listening carefully to demonstrations, and sharing their observations with peers and teachers.
Numeracy & Problem Solving

Counting, comparing, and noticing patterns
- Exploring measurement through real-life objects
Students compared the size of fire hoses, ladders, and helmets and noticed numbers and symbols on the trucks and equipment. They also explored time concepts when firefighters talked about response times.
Social Studies: Identity & Community
- Recognizing community helpers and their roles
- Understanding how people work together to keep communities safe
- Appreciating diversity, cooperation, and responsibility
The tour helped students understand how firefighters support the community and highlighted the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and caring for others.

Students explored the mechanics of fire trucks, sirens, hoses, compartments, and gear, and observed how equipment is designed to solve problems and keep people safe.

Students practiced walking safely as a group, navigating new spaces, and showing respect and gratitude toward community members.
