Hello Families, We have had another fun-filled week of learning in kindergarten!  Thank You Thank you to our fabulous Grade 4 teachers, students, and Mrs. Odegard for your meaningful organization of our Orange Shirt Day Truth and Reconciliation assembly. Your sharing of stories, reflections, and music helped everyone in our school understand the importance of remembering the history of residential schools and honouring the experiences of Indigenous peoples. Your thoughtfulness, respect, and creativity inspired our kindergarten students to ask meaningful questions. Through your efforts, our school community was able to reflect, learn, and take important steps toward understanding and reconciliation. Thank you to the Parent Association for organizing the lovely autumn-themed snack bar! Your creativity and thoughtfulness brought a cozy, festive touch to our week and provided our staff with a delightful treat to enjoy. Hello Families,  We have had another great week in kindergarten!  A big thank you to all of our families who joined us for our Kindergarten Math Open House! It was so wonderful to see the excitement on the children’s faces as they shared their learning with you.  Our evening was filled with hands-on math games, playful problem-solving, and opportunities for students to demonstrate their growth as mathematicians. From counting and building to number exploration, the learning games highlighted the many ways math is woven into our daily routines and play. Your participation made the event extra special. Watching your child explain their thinking, try out new strategies, and celebrate their successes alongside you builds confidence and helps connect home and school learning. Hello Kindergarten Families, We’ve just wrapped up our second week of kindergarten, and what a wonderful start it has been! The students are quickly learning our classroom routines and becoming more confident in moving through their day. Thank you for your support at home; talking about the day, reading together, and helping your child build independence with routines really strengthens their confidence at school. Kindergarten Updates Please check zippered folders daily. Please return these folders to your child's backpack daily.  Please label your child's belongings (lunch bags, water bottles, shoes, and clothing).  Library books are due on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Students will need to return a book to take out a new book. Please ensure you email me at jlhayes@cbe.ab.ca and our office if pickup arrangements change. This includes Rec House and Wee Wonder.
